Our story begins about 9 years ago when my wife and I moved from the city life of Tampa, Florida to the suburbs of Huntsville, Alabama.

It was quite the culture shock, and as a young couple, the only furniture we had was stuff we would pick up at yard sales and the occasional hand-me-down piece that probably never should have been handed down. When we had finally saved enough to buy our first bedroom set, we were determined to find something functional and modern that fit not only our contemporary style but durable enough we could one day pass it down to our children. Unfortunately it wasn’t that easy.

We had no luck finding anything local, and we kept hearing “Modern furniture isn’t very popular in Alabama.” On the rare occasion that we were able to find something we did like, it was either way out of our price range or poorly constructed. We ended up driving four hours to Atlanta or two hours to Nashville only to find that no one was willing to deliver more than fifty miles away. Even then, the choices were limited and the prices were high.

We turned to the internet but discovered that most online stores were just brick and mortar companies that had decided to put up a website. Their online prices were just as inflated as their showroom prices and if the price seemed reasonable, there was usually an expensive shipping & handling charge tacked on right before check out.
